Reaching our world for Christ by building mature disciples – all for the glory of God*.  Sounds simple, right?  Well, we all know better.  This is our mission at West Side Church (WSC) of Yakima, Washington. We are seeking God’s man to fill this position who will oversee preaching, adult life groups and leadership development. 

This position is part of a Pastoral Leadership Team (PLT) which consists of three full-time pastors who      co-lead the church in casting vision and overseeing the work of ministry. The PLT works in close conjunction with the Elder Council of nine lay elders.

We highly value expository preaching, church planting, and domestic and international missions. Our church is healthy with average Sunday attendance of ~600. We are preparing to take the next steps to achieve God’s plan for us to reach the next generation for Christ both in Yakima, and around the world, by making and growing disciples. 

Applicants must have at least a master’s degree in a theological discipline, meet the biblical qualifications of an elder and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in expository preaching and pastoral ministry.

West Side Church has had a vibrant youth ministry for years.  We chose to provide a middle school and a separate high school ministry for the development of our students.  These programs are structured around a large group small group ministry philosophy.  We also, have a strong emphasis for the students to serve in and through this ministry.

We are looking for a mature, detail and support oriented Assistant Youth Director who has the ability to work beside an energetic Youth Director to support the development of a healthy growing youth ministry that will reach the students of Yakima Valley for Christ by building mature disciples.  This person must have a passion for Jesus, a heart for students, the desire to work as a part of a team and support this team with administrative skills.  Please review the job description at job description.
